Field visit to Kom Badar Association to enhance cooperation and support the community rehabilitation project

As part of Kayan Association's efforts to enhance cooperation with its community partners and support successful local initiatives, Dr. Ayman Al-Tantawi, Executive Director of Kayan Association, today paid a field visit to Kom Badar Association in Al-Mansha Center—Sohag. This visit confirms the partnership in 2016 with the Kom Badar Association to establish an early intervention and community rehabilitation unit.
A team from the Kayan branch in Sohag Governorate participated, led by Mr. Ahmed Arafa, Branch Manager, and Ms. Aya Salah, Technical Director. Mr. Mohamed Rashad, Executive Director of the Kom Badar Community Development Association and the Access Project Team, received the team.
This partnership has resulted in a remarkable development in the project, as the unit has expanded to become three large units operating efficiently, thanks to a trained and distinguished work team. These units provide their vital services to support people with disabilities and their families, focusing on stimulating and employing local community resources to enhance the integration of people with disabilities.

During the visit, Ayman discussed many future ideas with the management of the Kom Badar Association and the work team about expanding the scope of the units and increasing their services to include broader areas, which contributes to improving the quality of life for a more significant number of beneficiaries. Dr. Ayman conducted a dialogue with the work team about the most critical bright spots they encountered during the project and how they overcame their challenges. Some families and children were also interviewed, expressing their satisfaction with the services and the change in their lives.

This visit confirms Kayan Association's commitment to its pioneering role in supporting and empowering local associations working to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development. It also highlights the importance of community-based rehabilitation units as an effective tool for mobilizing community resources and meeting community needs.

Kayan Association extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Kom Badar Association and the distinguished work team for their continuous efforts. We look forward to continuing cooperation to achieve more joint achievements.
